Virgin Mobile was the world’s first virtual network operator, running off of the network of other, pre-existing networks. In Virgin’s case they use EE’s superb 4G UK network to give their customers 3G and 4G LTE access almost everywhere. They were formed in 1999 and so have a long history of providing top quality services to a huge number of customers.
There are a range of services offered by Virgin Mobile: pay monthly phones, pay as you go phones as well as SIM only tariffs on both a monthly contract and pay as you go basis, including an “internet on the move” mobile broadband service.
Standard rates for Virgin Mobile sims are at 35p/minute, 12p/text and £1/day/100MB, then £1/100MB thereafter. As well as decent tariff rates, you can benefit from Big Data & Texts and Big Talk top up rewards. Big Data & Texts gives you 3000 texts and either 1GB or 3GB, depending on how much you top up (either £10 or £15 respectively), while Big Talk offers unlimited minutes to landlines and 120 minutes to UK mobiles for £10 a month, with an additional 3000 reward texts if you top up £15 instead of £10.
Virgin Mobile contracts range from £5 to £23 per month, with 250 minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB of data to unlimited minutes, texts and 5GB of data respectively. These are available either on a 12 month basis or a 30 day basis, both being SIM only.
